*Note* because of the sensitive nature of the information contained in the Supply System Assessment, we prefer to use an anonymous case study.
The Supply System Assessment moves your company towards a greater understanding of your impact in the world by assessing the eco-social conditions of the people and places producing the ingredients on which your company depends.
We take a global view of your ingredient portfolio and review it across ecological and social categories. This high-level analysis illuminates the climate change and socio-political risks associated with your ingredients and helps to expose the hidden extractive practices within your supply system. This is just the first step in your journey.
Uncover Portfolio Patterns
We uncover and depict basic patterns of your full ingredient
portfolio. This includes mapping the global distribution, climatic preferences and other relevant attributes of the existing supply system.
Assess Risks of All Ingredients
We map existing risks within your supply chain. The initial data is compiled in spreadsheets, focuses on the highest risk ingredients, and is reported to your buying team as an electronic document, and through an in-person review of our findings.
We report potential opportunities within your supply system. We discuss not only on the existing supply system, but also unrealized opportunities for positive ecological and social development.

For example, we might share an opportunity like:
1. XXXX Oil
Opportunity: Explore a direct-trade relationship with the certified organic XXX producer XXX. TGI has a multiple-year relationship with the XXX family, who own land in XXX and process XXXX seeds into oil at their manufacturing facility in California. XXX contracts XXXX to manage their 200+ acres, and are actively working with XXX to reduce water usage and develop permaculture-based approaches to farm management. TGI can make a direct introduction to owner XXXX.
Depending on the outcome with XXXX, another organic US-based producer is XXXX- they are not as deeply committed to sustainability, but have invested in new fields in California. In addition, we recommend that you explore relationships with XXXX producers in two other main countries where XXXX is produced: Australia and Israel.

The next phases of the supply system work emerge out of the in-person engagements between TGI and your company. We engage your whole company in a discussion that unveils new potential and systemic challenges to be wary of. You will see opportunities to evolve the reciprocity of your relationship to your suppliers and the agro-ecosystems on which you both depend.
The Supply System Assessment can be adapted to your needs based on your ingredient list, financial resources, and level of detail desired.
